George Medicines announces oral presentation during Hot Line Session at ESC Congress 2024

London, UK 21 August 2024 – George Medicines, a late-stage, biopharmaceutical company addressing significant unmet need in the treatment of cardiometabolic disease, today announced that results from its two pivotal Phase III trials of GMRx2 have been selected for oral presentation during a Hot Line Session of the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) Congress, taking place from 30 August to 2 September 2024 in London, UK, and online.

Dr Anthony Rodgers, Chief Medical Officer of George Medicines and Professorial Fellow at The George Institute for Global Health, will present results from two international Phase III trials investigating GMRx2, George Medicines’ novel, multi-mechanism triple combination candidate for the treatment of hypertension, including initiation of treatment. GMRx2 contains best-in-class medicines, telmisartan, amlodipine and indapamide, in triple quarter-dose (ultra-low dose), triple half dose (low dose) and triple standard dose options.

The Hot Line session will also include an oral presentation by Dr Dike Bevis Ojji, University of Abuja, Nigeria, reporting results from the VERONICA (deliVERy of Optimal blood pressure coNtrol in afrICA) clinical trial, conducted in hospital-based family medicine clinics in Nigeria. The trial was supported by The George Institute for Global Health and the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) of Australia, with medicine supplied by George Medicines.
