George Medicines’ Chief Medical Officer, Professor Anthony Rodgers, and steering committee members of the Company’s GMRx2 phase III trial programme examine the rationale for the single-pill, once-daily, triple combination of best-in-class medicines for the treatment of hypertension, including first-line therapy. Low-dose triple combinations have shown great promise to lead to a step change in hypertension control rates but at present none are available to prescribers or patients. The review assesses the potential for low-dose single-pill combination therapy to improve efficacy in blood pressure control without increasing side effects.
